I Belong in the Zoo
These photos are slightly belated. Jake was off from work Tuesday so we decided to go to the Zoo. He works for Lowe's Hardware(Tool World- go buy some special ordered tools from him ya'll) and his work supplies him with a pass to the Zoo. We thought it would be a nice way for the three of us to get away by ourselves for the day. Sorry if the pictures are slightly fuzzy, they were taken with a cell phone...

What I am Listening to
Mama told me when I was young
"Come sit beside me, my only son
And listen closely to what I say
And if you do this it will help you some sunny day"
"Oh, take your time, don't live too fast
Troubles will come and they will pass
Go find a woman and you'll find love
And don't forget, son, there is someone up above"
"And be a simple kind of man
Oh, be something you love and understand
Baby be a simple kind of man
Oh, won't you do this for me, son, if you can"
"Forget your lust for the rich man's gold
All that you need is in your soul
And you can do this, oh baby, if you try
All that I want for you, my son, is to be satisfied"
"And be a simple kind of man
Oh, be something you love and understand
Baby be a simple kind of man
Oh, won't you do this for me, son, if you can"
"Boy, don't you worry, you'll find yourself
Follow your heart and nothing else
And you can do this, oh baby, if you try
All that I want for you, my son, is to be satisfied"
"And be a simple kind of man
Oh, be something you love and understand
Baby be a simple kind of man
Oh, won't you do this for me, son, if you can"
Baby, be a simple, really simple man
Oh, be something you love and understand

Treasure Hunting
Mom and I went antique hunting Saturday and I found the greatest things! Even better, I got them all on SALE... :)
Vintage Jewelry Box= 3.00 Art Deco Necklace= 1.00
Vintage School Book= 1.00 (copyright 1891) I love old books! The contents of this one is hilarious...
"Distortion of the spine and bones of the chest may be caused by tight clothing about the waist" I think the girls from my high school years should have read this book. Ohhh and this "It is to be regretted that the industrial life of many young girls in shops and factories leaves them little chance for practical training in good housekeeping. The school and the cooking school ought to make up this deficiency. Every young woman who has not had this training, should get it in some way before going into a home of her own" Ahem what about the young MEN? Should'nt they learn to cook? Or are they just naturally advanced at everything? Yes I think that might be their argument. Oh and this is my above all favorite quote from this book: "Wine is a poisonous and dangerous drink. The alcohol in it has the power to create the craving for more that leads to drunkenness". HA Oh well let us drink and be merry :)
Sugar and Creamer Set= 3.25 (I jerked these up real quick. My mom has the white set)
Salad Mixer Set= 5.00 (It was 7.50 but she offered 5 instead; this is my favorite purchase of the whole day!)

I'm Dreaming of Spring
I am a tad bit late with these pictures due to the fact that Easter was yesterday. However, I just now got around to my little piece of computer paradise...

Finding Treasures
When I was younger, I loved going in the local antique mall in our town. It was huge then and it still is today. I could easily spend an entire day in there, which many times I did. Since Jake was off yesterday, we decided to go "window shopping" and just to get out of the house. We went to the antique mall, which was also Jayden's first trip there. Obviously, I cannot window shop because I jumped for joy when I saw this necklace. There has always been one booth set up at the antique store that I have always loved. The person that owns the items always has amazing things for really cheap prices. I only paid $1 for the necklace. I had never seen anything quite like it before. On the clasp, there is a hand painted flower that matches the other flowers on the beads. Has anyone ever seen a necklace like this? I'm trying to find out who makes it so that I can find out its value. There is no namebrand on it but since the hardware is so unique I thought that it might be of some value.

PaperBackSwap
I have become addicted to this really amazing site. It is called PaperBackSwap. Once you register(it's free) you post all of your books that you want to get rid of. You can also post hardback covers as well. All of your books are posted onto your "bookshelf". Other members can request the book and then once you accept their request, you have several days to get it mailed. The only thing that you pay for is the postage.
In return, you receive a credit to receive a book of your choice. If you print the postage from home, you will receive an automatic credit. You have to add money to your PBS account so that you can purchase the postage. I did this method for a while and received several amazing books that were basically new. I then signed up for the "Box-O-Books" program. It is only $8 a year and you do not have use any of your credits in order to receive books. For example, lets say I have 10 books that you want. You request those books and then I receive a message that you made the request. I then browse your bookshelf and see if I like any of your books. I can then request 10 of yours and accept your offer. Once you accept my offer, we each mail our boxes of books.
If for some reason you request more books than the other person, they can either decide to accept the offer or decline. While this can become expensive if you have several boxes of books going out to several members, it is am amazing program because you are able to save on postage by mailing in bulk while still receive books without using up your credits. To mail one average sized book it has cost me $2.13. To mail 3 or 4 books, it cost me $3.15. However, I received that many books in return and they were all in wonderful condition.
If you are not a big reader, there are all sorts of books for any type of person. I just received a George Forman cookbook today that I picked off of someone else's shelf. I also received 2 of the "golden" books and one Thomas the Tank engine book for Jayden. If you do not have any credits, you simply type the name of the book in the BOB search bar and find another member who has it. If no one in the PBS system has your book that you want, you can place it on your wish list, and it will notify you when someone posts the book.
To browse my shelf you can search for me under the name "Crystal W." or "jaysmom0703"

Hey Everyone.
I changed the look of my blog(again). What do you think? I had forgotten how much fun the paint program was. I'm posting a few freebies so that you do not give up on my blog. I hope to have a compiled list for manic monday soon. Enjoy!
US Divers Luggage Tag
Sunsilk Shampoo
Garnier Ultra Lift
McGruff Child Safety Kit
Sign up for the Betty Crocker Newsletter and receive a free Hamburger Helper Microwave Singles pack.
Powerbuilt Socket Sample (ladies, if you do not know what a socket is, do NOT ask a man. It will only make them feel like they know more than you. This is exactly what wikipedia was made for)
Sloppy Joe T-Shirt
Kitchen Ruler and Oven Rack Push-Puller
Create a bridal registry at Bed Bath and Beyond and receive free gifts. (no purchase necessary. Register for the amount that each company requires and then print part of the registry that has the company's products on it, this way you do not have to send in a whole copy of the registry with each mail-in form. I did this on the macy's webpage and I received very nice gifts. I listed the occasion as an anniversary/renew wedding vowels and it went through)
Extra:
Bring in a copy of the April issue of Seventeen magazine to any participating Aeropostale store and receive a free tank top(valued at $19.95). Offer valid March 4th through April 4th. The free tank top ad is on page 24 of the magazine. (I have not tried this. It has been ages since I have read one of these magazines but it sounds interesting....)
